Eurostar direct service to the alps
Within half an hour, you’ve checked in - (allow one hour for ski service). Within two hours, you’re in another country. And despite this unique service being available for over a decade, the novelty still hasn’t worn off.
Travel to the heart of the French Alps on a Eurostar Ski Train, running from late December until early April.
There are two Direct Eurostar Ski Trains to choose from:
Night service- Get eight days on the slopes as you depart Friday evening (arriving first thing on Saturday) returning following Saturday night.
High-speed day service - Arrive in just seven and a half hours, travelling through the day on Saturday.
There is also the option of the slower traditional overnight 'party' snowtrain
The Eurostar service will now depart from the newly refurbished London St Pancras instead of London Waterloo. The brand-new central London terminal is pretty swish. This newly renovated Victorian station is a destination in its own right with boutique shopping and Europe's longest champagne bar. St Pancras International offers a range of shops, bars, restaurants and wireless internet access unlike anything ever seen in a UK rail station.
Trains will also stop at Ebbsfleet International, instead of Ashford. Ebbsfleet is a new station situated in Kent. Its glass and steel structure is a sleek and futuristic addition to the surrounding countryside and is situated minutes from Junction 2 of the M25. It’s also close to the M2, M20 and A2. The station has parking for up to 9,000 cars. Station facilities include cafés, newsagents, cash machines and wireless internet access.
Three great reasons to take a Eurostar Direct Ski train
You get more time on the slopes - The overnight service gains you an extra day compared to flying.
It's green - Compared to many forms of transport, travelling to the slopes by train leaves a greatly reduced carbon footprint.
You can upgrade to Leisure Select - First-class seats for leisure travellers with meals and drinks served at your larger (reclining) seat.
How much does it cost?
Standard class fares start from £149 return.
Leisure Select fares start from £199 return and includes meals
and drinks.
This train is comfortable and easy to access if you live in the London or southern area, it can be quite expensive but you do arrive at a decent time, which allows you to organise everything prior to dinner.
