Meribel (1400m – 1750m) - www.meribel.net

In 1938 Meribel was the first resort in the 3 Vallees with its own ski lift. Meribel has just celebrated 70 years. Under the initial care of British Mayor Lindsey, Meribel’s prime concern has always bee the environment. Only traditional Savoy chalets are authorised to be built using traditional materials (stone & wood) so that they integrate onto the natural habitat of the forests and mountain pastures. In the heart of the 3 Vallees (note their hearts shaped logo) and at the gateway Vanoise National Park, Meribel has a capacity of almost 38,000 beds over several districts; Meribel Centre (1450m), Meribel-Mottaret (1750m), Meribel Village (1400m) and numerous little hamlets between the main centre Les Allues and the resort.
