La Chrismamara - Mottaret
Situated at the foot of the slopes next to the "Down Town Bar".
Open all day serving paninis, sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, chips,
omelets, beers etc. Good value fast service to be found here but with
the usual lack of charm that only the French so superbly deliver! However
if your looking for a fast eat and a sunny south facing terrace then
La Chrismamara is quite possibly the place for you.
Hotel les Arolles - Mottaret
If you¨ve skied into Mêribel Mottaret via the green run called Perdrix,
then you¨ve gone past this hotel/restaurant and probably not given it
a second glance. It¨s a huge triangular shaped hotel on the left, just
opposite the start of the Table Verte chairlift. It has a large, sunny,
piste-side sundeck seating perhaps 150 people. The menu is fairly standard
Savoyard with steaks, tartiflettes & soups together with a decent wine
list but it stands out from the crowd by being in a nice place, with
a nice view, with very reasonable prices and most importantly, the food
is excellent
Rastro - Mottaret
When you enter the 'town square' in Mottaret (where all the lifts start
from), you can lock your skis up and walked along the row of a dozen
or so shops & restaurants up towards the Hotel Mt Vallon and under the
Ramêes chair. Look at all the menus and maybe choose the Rastro on a
nice sundeck with a view of Mt Vallon. Pick your table carefully though
as 3 tables tend to get snowfalls from the skiers passing overhead on
the chairlift! The food is pretty good and excellent value. It's amazing
how the cost of a meal often halves if you just get off the piste by
a few yards and often the quality is better. Entrecote frites plus cheese
in filo pastry with a beer & half a bottle of wine for less than 40 euros.
Lodge du Village - Meribel
04 79 01 03 55 - Tim Wallwww.lodgeduvillage.com
This restaurant is reached by skiing down the blue run called Lapin from the Altiport to the bottom of the Golf chairlift. It¨s a 50 metreÄ walk across the car-park, and the restaurant is situated between a ski shop and the bakery. This is the small satellite village of Meribel Village with a number of new apartment buildings clustered round the centre. Lodge du Village is a fantastic value restaurant, with an Italian slant (delicious bruschetta, pizzas and all kinds of pasta dishes). They don¨t seem to let this constrain them though as their great value plat du jour can vary from a Thai curry to turkey pie! There¨s a bar upstairs with a little balcony with 4 tables for lunch plus a patio/sundeck at ground level with another 8 or so tables. Inside there is more seating but as it¨s probably the sunniest spot in the whole of the 3 Valleys then outside is the place to be. Main courses are mostly around û10 to û15 although you can go mad and spend û20 on a filet steak. The Lodge is owned by Tim Wall, who also owns ÿLa Taiga¨ & ÿPub Ski-Lodge¨ in La Tania.

Rhododendron - Meribel
This is a sunny spot in a convenient place just below the top of the
Rhodos bubble. It is 3 restaurants in one really, as they have a self-service
which opens at 11.30am with all the usual dishes like spaghetti bolognese,
fricasêe d¨agneau, lasagne & entrecote steak in the û10 to û15 range.
Their house wine is excellent at û9 a bottle (Cuvêe Rhodos). Also, they
have a little-noticed upstairs restaurant where you can order all of
the same food but served ‡ la carte for about û1 extra a dish. This
part of the restaurant also has a little balcony of 4 tables for the
sunny days. In 2007/08 they added a new service for those in a hurry;
at the ground floor bar you can buy a ham, cheese or ham+cheese baguette
or a piece of pizza for around û5. Couple that with a beer at û3.50
and a seat on a nice sunny deck for the ultimate cheap & cheerful, but
good, lunch.

Le Rond Point - Meribel les Allues
04 79 00 37 51 - info@rondpointmeribel.com - www.rondpointmeribel.com/
At the top of the 1st stage of theÄ Rhodos bubble, you head downhill across the area known as Rond Point and tucked away on the right hand side is the huge sundeck, seating perhaps 200 people, of the restaurant called by the same name. The tables next to the piste are for ‡ la carte service from an extensive menu. Pizzas are around û16 and the rest of the main courses are from û18 to û24. These vary from Rostis, to a ÿbucketful¨ of Moules MariniËreÄwith frites and on to steaks done anyway you like them. The staff are all English speaking and the menus are also in English or French. It a very kids-friendly restaurant as they get their own menu and there¨s lots of snow for them to play in while you wait for the food to arrive. Also on the sundeck is a self service counter if you just want a quick beer/burger/frites.
Brewskis - St Martin de Belleville
04 79 00 62 34 - office@brewskis.fr
A warm welcome and Chicken Curry Pie after the lovely ski down - what better! Also daily specials, more pies, great burgers, Stella beer, a pool table and a sunny terrace. It's easy to get stuck down here and miss the last lifts back!!! The new 8 seater gondola makes getting back so much quicker now - check out www.brewskis.fr for more details.
La Tsaretta - Les Allues
Nice menu including pizzas, steaks and local specialities. Theme nights
(usually on A Friday) include Fish & Chips, Curry, Chinese etc.
Good atmosphere, occasional live music, friendly English staff and they
can even organise free transport for you too.
Chateau de Feissons - 12km from Moûtiers
You can see the Chateau from the main dual carriageway up on the left
hand side as you drive from Albertville to Moûtiers. The not very
classy red neon sign of a plate with knife & fork can be seen on
top of one of the turrets! It is a fantastic setting and the restaurant
is in a large hall with uniformed staff - but not too stuffy and they're
helpful if you're struggling with your French. The food is wonderfully
French and not as expensive as the setting would make you think. Imaginative
soups and several fish dishes on the menu. A great place to impress
someone.
Le Coq Rouge - Moûtiers
One of the best kept secrets of The Three Valleys. Situated near the
cathedral, this restaurant is superb value for money with top notch
food. Excellent value set menu at lunch or dinner and try the bargain
quality house wine.
The Zig Zag - Méribel Mottaret, near Plattieres
bottom gondola station
Great value 3 course lunch here for ¤15. Well worth finding this
place, must try it in the evening some time too. Plat du Jour's always
look very tasty and staff are welcoming and friendly.
Le Plantin - Route to La Tania in Méribel Village

Table top BBQ with as much meat, salad and chips you can eat (and wine you can drink). Party atmosphere and can be very loud if a gang of Chalet Girls are celebrating something!
The Frog and Roast beef - Val Thorens, on the top
road, high up
thebar@thefrogandroastbeef.com - www.thefrogandroastbeef.com
The highest pub in Europe with good value English style pub food. Small terrace outside for sunny days and plenty of room inside for bad weather days when the soup, burgers and steaks really come in to their own.
