Courchevel & Les Trois Vallees
3 vallées all day off piste ski exploration
Ski Course Schedule

Access will be via ski lifts (no ski touring is involved in this course)

Dates: weeks commencing 26 February and 9 April 2022

Duration: All day from 09.00 – 16:00hrs over 5 days

Group size:  6 maximum

Skill level:  Confident skiers with a sense of adventure who enjoy going off the beaten track!

Winter course content: This all day course will explore the outer reaches of this huge ski area. Late February often provides great powder in the Alps and our coaches will spend their day taking you to the very best pitches and terrain.

Spring course content: This all day course will explore the outer reaches of Les Trois Vallées ski domain. It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy the magical experience of ‘corn/spring’ snow and enjoy skiing all over the valleys.

Our team of coaches not only know where to find the very best snow but also where it is at specific times of the day. They will move around the mountain finding the best pitches and terrain as the sun softens the snow which makes for an amazing ski experience.

Both courses are based almost entirely off piste and you need to be equipped accordingly for back country skiing. Although we will return to the chalet each evening you will need to be fully equipped for back country skiing with transceiver, shovel and probe. You can hire this locally if needed.

Equipment needed: 30 litre winter rucksack; water bottle / hydration pack; suncream (factor 50+); sunhat; warm hat, sunnies; goggles; avalanche kit – transceiver, shovel, probe (can be rented in resort).

Supplement: £300 per person / £400 per person for non skivo2 guests

Where we go will be dictated to a large extent by the current weather and snow conditions. This is prime time for back country skiing and the plan is to explore the 3 valleys on touring skis.  One tour will involve an overnight in a refuge.

On our the itinerary are the following tours. Obviously we will choose which one suits the conditions at the time.

  • Day Tour: Les Avals and Le Petit Mont Blanc Tour from Courchevel 1650
  • Day Tour: Mont de la Guerre Champagny/La Plagne. This tour starts in Champagny and takes you through the forest on a beautiful ski tour trail to high above La Plagne
  • Day Tour: Lac Tueda via Creux Noir. Short tour from the old Creux Noir chairlift. Superb long descent to Lac Tueda above Mottaret
  • Day Tour: Point de la Masse – St Martin de Belleville off piste. Short skin from Point de la Masse to access 10km back country to St Martin
  • Day Tour: Breche de la Portetta descent into Pralongon. This is 2 hours tour to access this steep and narrow couloir. Amazing ski but for very strong steep terrain skiers only.
